Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both lawyers. After relocating to Oxfordshire at the age of five, she enrolled in the Dragon School. Emma was aspired to become an actor from the age of at the age of six. She was enrolled at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford which is an acting academy that offers part-time classes. She had already performed in several Stagecoach as well as school plays before she turned ten. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) was the film adaptation from J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was first cast for the very first time back in the year 1999. Emma was discovered through Emma's Oxford Theater instructor. David Heyman announced to Emma that, after auditioning for eight times they and Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's debut on screen was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's release in the year 2001. It broke all records in terms of its opening and weekend ticket sales, and it was the most-recorded 2001 movie. Critics were impressed with the performance of the film as well as its story. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her outstanding performance. Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as the most outstanding young actor in an Feature Film. She was later awarded five times for her role in the movie.
